Where do you find the best players?

They are found sitting on the sidelines, telling the players on the field what to do how to play.

The team players on the field might not all be the best but they are in the
team playing the game.

In 2019 our Home country rugby team won the world cup, they became world champions Slide 2

South Africa is one of 120 nations who are now rugby playing nations.

What made them champions ?

They knew how to play as a team, they supported each other, they cared for each other, they played for each other

Team requirements
15 men in team
Each man plays in his specialist position
Each man Requires specialist skills in each position
Each man has the right physical build for the position
Each man must have common skills as well
Catch and throw a rugby ball
Run
Be fit and strong
Toughness
Determination to win
What would be the greatest skill needed for SA to win the world cup?

As the couch of this amazing team

I invite all of us to allow this message to minister to our hearts
Those who are not yet part of the team, make a decision about joining
either this one, or another.
Each one of us has been designed by God

God did not create any part of our bodies for show?
To make us look handsome,

I have been in ministry for many years now
How many times have I heard people say

I don’t know what God’s plan is for my life

As a result many are sitting on the side of the field telling the players how to play the game, criticizing them for not being perfect.

I want us all to know tonight
Whatever Gods plans for your life are it is, its bigger than who you are right now.
Does that mean you are going to have a ministry where you get to stand on
the stage in front of hundreds of thousands
Maybe so
Maybe It’s doing something which right now you say
I could never do that
I don’t like children
I don’t like foreigners
I want to be ……..

How do we get into a championship team

If you have never played rugby

This is how
Have a desire to play the Game
Joining a team
Be couched by those who have been in the game for a long time and
enjoy success
Allow our skills to develop and being placed in the best spot by the couch
in the best position according to your skills.

Sometime ago I was dreaming,

Sometimes I dream because I ate to many hamburgers Sometimes God gives me prophetic dreams

Sometimes he teaches me amazing truths.
In this dream God dropped this nugget of wisdom into my heart for all of us

This had nothing to do with the game of rugby
This has to do understanding TEAM
Understanding Kingdom life
This is the way forward for us

Learn it
Learn what it means to be in a team
Learn my place, my role, my responsibility

Love it
Rugby is a tough game
Players get hurt, broken bones, torn muscles, bruises,
But the love of the game keeps them going back. No matter how tough.
Sometimes being in Jesus team is also tough, and demanding, players also get hurt by life,

Live it
Live out Team life, Kingdom life wherever we are, whatever we do

Teach it
We will never be effective teachers without the above three steps
Learn it
Live it
Love it
Being a member of a kingdom team like this requires us to do some
personal soul searching.

It requires us to be couched by God, by his Spirit, by those called to be the couches.

It requires us to build these beautiful skills into our skill set
which make us effective team members.

1.Servant hood

No one wants to be a servant, because of our wrong understanding-but until we become servant’s we cannot be effective in the kingdom.

The best way to be a servant is through your giftedness.

Humility does not mean that I see myself as a useless nothing
Humility in its truest sense means
Seeing myself as God sees me
Greatness,
And being humbled by the loving trust in me to accomplish what he called me too accomplish.

Faithfulness comes to fruition when I stay
Even when things are not going my way.
Even when I am pushed down and ignored

4.Brokenness

This is not being financially poor, its being spiritually poor
Broken spirit also does not mean a completely messed up and useless
person.
It means I have allowed God to break me free from personal gain
Ambition for personal success
From attitudes of looking down on the people that God loves
God is not impressed by us bragging about how good we are
What we have done
What we are going to accomplish for him
Where we have gone, where we are going to.

God is seeking those who will say
My life is in your hands
I submit to you
I will do as you say
I will obey you
I will go
I will stay

I have a wonderful little book
I have read it many times
The beauty of Christ through brokenness
Its about a young man who has great leadership skills
He is chosen every year to lead a ministry team of young Christians
But he allows pride into his life
As a result the following year when selection time arrived, he was so confident that he would be selected again, but not one person selected him to be the leader

This made him angry and confused, until an older brother helped him to see that pride had made him arrogant and stubborn.
This was a very painful time in his life, he felt to broken and out of control.
But when he repented of his pride, God healed and restored him, and he regained his position of leadership


When I am not servant hearted, humble, faithful and most of all
broken

Everything will be about drawing attention to myself
Needing others to serve me instead of me serving others.

No matter how talented and gifted I am,
My life will not be a sweet perfume to God and others.

Are you in the game
Are you sitting on the sidelines telling others how to play
Criticizing the way they play?

If you are not in the game
Do what Ecclesiastes says
Whatever your hands find to do
Do it
Discover your gifting
Serve with servant heart
In humility
Faithfully
And brokenness
You will become a great team player.
You will be a champion.
Jesus will be glorified in your life
