Reign in life

Reign in life

Roman’s 5:1-5
Romans 5:17
As believers, mature in Christ
We have responsibilities towards our world which God has entrusted us with
Examples
1.His very great and precious salvation
2.His promises in his word
3.Living out who we have become in Christ. Sons and daughters
4. Reigning in life.
Some have misunderstood what it means to reign in life, due to incorrect understanding and selfish ambitions of the flesh.
Some think that to reign in life
King of the castle
Lord of the manor
The top of the pile
The Big boss
The decision maker
The guitarist in the dance.
The big idea person
Front of the line.
To reign in life from a Biblical perspective
Live in victory no matter what circumstance I find myself in
Jesus said
Mathew 20:25
 World system of greatness
Rulers of the nations exercise dominion over
Great exercise authority over
Mathew 20:26
If anyone wants to be great
Jesus is not saying we should not be great
Whoever desires to be great
Let him serve
Get under others
The purpose of getting under others is to lift them up.
But we cannot serve others effectively, get under others, until we ourselves are reigning in life.
To be reigning in life therefore means that we are living a victorious overcoming lifestyle which is so desirous to the world that they cannot resist having what we have.
You and I are the carriers of God’s divine grace, wisdom and power.
Within each one of us lies the capacity to be world changers
Called to bring solutions and answers to the world in which we live.
A dear friend calls us all possibilitarians.
In other words nothing is impossible with God.
Divine grace which God has given to us as a free gift
Gives us the ability to live righteously and to reign
Some focus areas
Reigning in life
1. Viewing our past
Seeing myself the way God does,
Viewing my past the way God does.
So many are still trapped in the past,
Fear, guilt and Shame.
When the enemy comes to remind us of our past, which he does and will.
We need to remind ourselves of God’s perspective
Psalms 103:12

Hebrews 10:17

Someone once said
Creation = God made everything from nothing.
Forgiveness = God takes every wrong and makes them nothing.

2. Thought life
Proverbs 23:17
As a man thinks so he is
What we carry inside of us is greater than what is outside.
How do we think about ourselves
I’m just a poor little insignificant nothing

Reigning in life when storms come
Jesus was sleeping in the storm
When he was woken up
He released what was inside of him
The wind the waves obeyed him

Mark 16:17-18

When our thought live becomes invaded and charged with knowing what God’s word promises
These signs will follow.

3. Reigning in life through relationships
Anyone here ever desire to have bad relationships?
Enjoy having bad friends?
Have you ever been criticized
Rejected
Cursed
Called names which hurt badly
Had thorny people come into our lives

Reigning in relationships
Means
How do we navigate our way through these difficulties
Our natural human tendency
Eye for and Eye
Get you back
You’ll pay for this
Or do we live above the pain and sorrow

Proverbs 27:17

4.Reigning in sickness
We live in a fallen world full of sickness and disease, some are healed in this life, all are healed in the next. The answer as to why this happens is beyond most to understand.
So how do I reign in life through sickness
Some have said, I’m sick because its my cross which I have to carry.
That’s a lie
Being sick brings no Glory to God
Carrying your cross through sickness does.
To carry my cross means, finishing my race which I have been called too, no matter the circumstances I find myself in.
Matthew 16:24

5. Reign in life with money?
Such a difficult topic to talk about.
So much abuse, so much pain, mistrust, corruption in the love of money?

1 Timothy 6:10
Scripture talks about two types of people regarding money
Rich and Poor
Both of these have challenges in terms of reigning in life with money.
Some believe that we are supposed to be the wealthiest around.
Others believe that Christians must be poor because it reflects humility, piety.
Neither of these views are biblical.
No matter how much we have in this life, does not compare with the wealth of heaven.

The key to reigning in life with money
Contentment

The rich man reigns in life
When he is generous

1 Timothy 6:17-18

Those who are not wealthy with worldly goods reign in life
Philippians 4:19

One of the biggest traps that people fall into is comparison.
Comparison leads to envy, envy leads to strife, strife leads to anger, bitterness, murder.

Training for reigning
University of adversity
Many times we are faced with challenges, which seem so big
Mountains to high
Swimming against the current
Sailing against the wind.
Seem impossible
In sailing terms its called beating
Setting the sails and rudder in such a way that we actually make headway against the wind.
Romans 5:3
