Preparation for breakthrough
Preparation for breakthrough

Preparing for breakthrough
Tonight our topic is preparing for breakthrough
Romans 15 : 4
Everything that was written in the past was written to teach us. Those things were written so that we could have hope. That hope comes from the patience and encouragement that the Scriptures give us.
So the Bible was written to teach us right?
The stories and examples are there for us to read, and be encouraged
Who of you need or desire breakthrough?
People come to church for various reasons
Gain knowledge
Lonely
Learn English
Nothing else to do
Curiosity
Some out of loyalty
Test personal knowledge
Test the preachers knowledge
Find spiritual home
Thirsty but not sure what for
Search for meaning
Search for truth
Expectation of receiving
Why are you here tonight?
If you will lay aside all or any of those reasons for being here
And open your heart to God
You will already be preparing your heart for breakthrough
If God can speak through the mouth of a Donkey, I am confident that he can speak through me to you tonight
God can, will satisfy your every need.
What is breakthrough ?
Overcoming the impossible
Breaking through barriers which are stopping abundance
Destroying the yokes of bondage which Spiritual forces of wickedness are attempting to contain us.
Recognizing the need for breakthrough
I have been studying my bible
Listening to others testify of abundance
Listening to true ministers of the Gospel
Recognizing a lack or deficiency in my life
IE :
Peace,
Joy
Deep revelation
Hearing Gods voice
Health
Wealth, Finances
Business
Career
When I recognize that I am lacking or I am deficient in any area highlighted to me
And are thirsty for them
Isaiah 55 : 1
Ho, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and he who has no money, come, buy and eat. Yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.
I become a candidate for breakthrough.
Preparation
1.
Two types of people
Settlers and pioneers
Most of us are settlers
In the corporate church That’s good, not everyone is called to be a pioneer, in terms of going to other countries
Some need to stay and keep the fires burning
But in terms of breakthrough
We all need to be pioneers,
To be a pioneer means break new ground
We are creatures of habit
We enjoy the comforts of home.
For us to enjoy everything God has for us,
We should prepare our hearts to say
Lord whatever it takes to break new ground.
I will go to that place in the spirit
Lord I will do whatever it takes
2.
Physical obedience to God
Brings supernatural breakthrough
Joshua 6
Story of Joshua
In obedience they did what God told them
At the right moment, which God had determined
Walls that seemed so high and so thick
God blew that wall out of the way in an instant.
My gifting
Sometimes God gives me a word of wisdom which will bring breakthrough
Sometimes what God gives me sounds silly
Some receive the word, receive the breakthrough
Jump on your cigarettes
3.
How is your prayer life
Oh Glorious God of Heaven, you are so mighty, and strong,
I am so small and just simply a nothing lord, I’m such a worm, I don’t deserve anything I’m not sure if you are listening to me, I’m not sure if I am praying the right way, I just want to be your humble door mat so that everyone can walk all over me, I’m not sure If I can ask you, but Im going to try.
James 5 : 16 B
The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous one avails much.
The word fervent
Greek word en-erg-eh'-o
We get the English word
Energetic from this word
In other words
We should pray like we believe that God hears and answers
We should pray with energy,
Pray with expectation
Pray with Endurance
2 Kings 13 : 14-19
We listened to the account of a King by the name Joash
Elisha told him to strike the ground with the arrows
So the king struck the ground three times
Elisha became angry at him?
Why did he become angry ?
Because he was supposed to keep striking until the breakthrough came.
To often we give up, give in too quickly
Acts 12 :1-16
Verse 5
Then, indeed, Peter was kept in prison. But earnest prayer was made to God for him by the church.
Verse 13
And as Peter knocked at the door of the porch, a girl named Rhoda came to listen.
Acts 12:16
But Peter continued knocking, and when they had opened and saw him, they were amazed.
Encouraging scripture
1 Thessalonians 5:17
Pray without ceasing.
2 Corinthians 4:16
For this cause we do not faint; but though our outward man perishes, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.
4.
Breakthrough comes at the moment God knows we are ready to receive it.
God is a loving caring wise heavenly father
He will not give us things which will do us harm.
He knows what we need more than we do
He knows when we need things more than we realize
He knows when the conditions for breakthrough are right
Example
Would a loving father give large sums of money to an irresponsible child?
His desire would be to give, but the child would need to learn how to take care of wealth first.
Gods desire is to bless us abundantly
For us to have continuous break through into the much more muchness of His nature and will and desire
He will provide more than enough for every assignment we have said yes too.
2 Corinthians 2:14
Now thanks be to God, who always causes us to triumph in Christ, and He revealing through us the odor of the knowledge of Him in every place.
